The W16 Buggati Mistral sets a new world record

The Buggati Mistral which was launched in 2022 has set the new world record for “The fastest open-roofed car”.
Andy Wallace, the British racing professional and Le Mans winner who set the record of the fastest closed top car in 2019 with the Buggati Chiron Super Sport 300+ has set yet another mark with the Buggati Mistral.

He drove the W16 powered Buggati Mistral on the Automotive Testing Papenburg GmbH. The car set a record by achieving a top speed of 282 mph (453 kmph). Buggati Mistral is the first roadster from Buggati since they launched the Buggati Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in 2012.

The Buggati Mistral is a two-seater car with a mid-engine and is powered by a 1600 PS W16 engine. Only 99 units of the Buggati Mistral will be built with each being priced around €5 million. The car is designed to achieve great speeds while maintaining a timeless design.
